Rockford Dentist - The Teeth People
Invisalign® is a custom-made aligner that is interchanged roughly every two weeks for a period of six to eighteen months, or longer depending on the severity of misalignment. Similar to a mouth or dental retainer (which is designed to keep teeth from shifting out of place), an Invisalign® aligner is used for orthodontic treatment as a technique to move and properly align teeth for a beautiful smile. This clear aligner is usually computer generated from a mold (or impression) of the patient’s teeth—taken by either a dentist or an orthodontist—and the fitting is unique to each patient only.
One of the primary advantages found with these braces is that they are completely clear and are practically invisible to the naked eye when worn. This provides patients with the means of keeping their beautiful smile even when wearing braces. These braces also work somewhat differently than standard braces, as metal braces are a permanent solution that are only removed once the teeth have moved completely to their desired position, while these clear braces can actually be removed for brushing, flossing and eating.
Is Invisalign Expensive?
One of the most major roadblocks most people encounter when choosing between Invisalign and traditional braces is price. It is a common misconception than Invisalign is more expensive than other straightening treatments. This is only one of many questions that new patients might have about Invisalign. Is Invisalign expensive? Is it effective? Is it as effective as metal braces? When it comes to picking the right treatment for you, you should be primarily concerned with which treatment is going to provide you with the better results. You will be more pleased with the treatment that ultimately looks better, even if it was a little more expensive.
There are many different factors to consider when it comes to determining how expensive Invisalign is going to be. These include how compliant the patient is with the treatment, how effective Invisalign will be for that patient, and whether or not your insurance company is going to pay for all or part of the treatment. When it comes to answering the question, “Is Invisalign expensive?” all of these factors have to be properly factored into the discussion.
The answer to the question, “Is Invisalign expensive?” is “It depends.” Usually, it is not any more expensive than any other type of treatment that you might get. This can make it a great alternative to those treatment options, as long as you are willing to actually wear the aligners and if Invisalign has a treatment solution for the issues that you have with your mouth.
